I have been working over the past few months on developing a 32 page guide on effective triage. This covers how to gain a clear history, an overview of the main urgent and emergency conditions, tips on triaging and effective communication in these situations.
This booklet will be useful to anyone working in a healthcare setting who deals with eye patients – optometrists and their practice staff, GPs and their team, ophthalmic nurses, A&E nurses and pharmacists. I will also be running an online course for ophthalmic nurses in the coming months on this topic, however if any other groups are interested in joining this, please let me know.
For optometry practices, this booklet with be a really useful addition to the Eye Emergency Resource Pack that a lot of practices will already have.
