Examination and referral of cataract patients in community optometry practice is the start of the cataract treatment pathway for many of our patients each year. High quality assessment by the optometrist at this stage can help to get this journey off to the best start. It allows the cataract treatment provider to vet the patient accurately and highlights any potential challenges or risk factors for surgery to help ensure the best possible outcome for the patient.

Dr Naing Latt Tint – Consultant Ophthalmologist

I am delighted to able to welcome Dr Naing Latt Tint of Eye Surgery Scotland who will deliver this webinar on cataract assessment. He will give an insight to surgery and how we can best assess these patients in order to gain the key information required to support the best surgical outcomes possible for our patients.

This webinar comes in conjunction with the recent release of the Cataract Assessment Booklet from Optometry-Evolution which would support community optometrists in this area of their clinical practice. I will give a brief review of this resource on the night. The webinar will also be attended by Scope Ophthalmic who very kindly supported the development of this booklet.

This webinar is free of charge for community optometrists and will gain 2 interactive CPD points. It will be delivered via Cisco Webex.
