More optometrists are becoming involved in glaucoma care with in community and hospital settings. We also have an increasing number of qualified and training Independent Prescribers. Having an up to date awareness of glaucoma medications in terms of how they work, how to approach prescribing and their possible side effects is key to trying to get the best results for patients with the minimum risks.

This small group, informal tutorial will give an overview of the main drug groups and will look at the possible adverse effects in each class. There will be plenty of opportunity questions and discussion throughout.

This will be useful to all optometrists, but particularly to those involved in glaucoma care, and those who have either completed or are working towards Independent Prescribing status.

2 CET points available – either for optometrist or IP optometrist.
