Welcome to this new online tutorial covering the essentials of Glaucoma. Whether you are an ophthalmic nurse, a pre-registration optometrist, an orthoptist, an ophthalmology trainee or a GP, this tutorial will offer a useful introduction to the topic of glaucoma.

Glaucoma is still one of the most common causes of visual impairment in the UK and is a major part of any ophthalmology service delivery due to patient volume and ongoing monitoring of patients, so it is really useful for all those involved to have good insight as to what this condition is, how it is detected and how we aim to manage it.

This tutorial will cover the following:

  • Definition of what glaucoma is and how it affects vision
  • Risk factors for developing different forms of glaucoma
  • The clinical examination of patients – including slit lamp examination, IOP, optic disc and visual fields
  • Overview of treatment

This will be delivered via Cisco WebEx, with invites emailed approx 1 week prior to the tutorial. All participants will receive a CPD certificate for 1.5hr CPD time. It is designed to be informal, so there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions throughout.

To book your place simply fill in the form, or if you have any queries please let me know.

Cost – £20 per delegate
